There's something so exciting and refreshing about a totally spontaneous evening. The other night we hopped in the truck and headed out with no agenda. We drove around town rocking out to an old Firehouse CD and the kids thought it was hilarious to sing at the top of our lungs. . . ."BABY, DON'T TREAT ME BAAAAAAAAAAD ! !"
We ended up at Toad's Fun Zone and spent hours there having all kinds of fun.
Waiting for our pizza to arrive. Jason happily watching sports on the big TV.
Grady on the little merry-go-round. He rode it three times so he could sit on each animal.
He loves Whack-a-Mole.....or Whack-a-Shark in this case.
Jason, Austin, and Jerrett playing a hunting game
Grady playing skeeball. See where his ball is? It's up on the divider, about to roll into the next lane. Haha ! He can't really get the balls up into the holes but he loves it because his ball just rolls right back down to him. I'm sure that in his mind he can't understand why anyone would want their ball to disappear into the holes.
The big boys still playing hunting.....they were enthralled with it for quite a while.
Punching Ducks....Grady is actually pretty good at this one.
Tickets!!
This basketball game was a little more tricky than normal since the backboard twisted and moved around.
Swish!!
After the arcade we went and played a round of indoor glow golf. It made for challenging photography (I can barely take pictures in good light let alone this) but it was a blast!
Grady would usually just give up and throw his ball in the hole....he would look at us like he had just discovered a huge secret and couldn't understand why the rest of us couldn't figure it out. :)
Entering a fun glowing cave
Good thing my sweatshirt provided just enough light to see my face. :)
Caves and volcanoes, mythical animals, jungles, mysterious Mayan temples, creepy crawlies, glow-in-the-dark, mini-golf....could anything appeal to a bunch of little boys any more than this ? They loved it.
Austin and Jerrett by the glowing green river
Austin and Jerrett resting on an "ancient" stone puma.
Austin, Jerrett, and I played a game of laser tag while Jason watched Grady. Here's the boys just after our round ended. It was fun and I actually got 6th and Austin got 8th out of 24 mostly teenage/grownup players. Poor Jerrett stayed close to me but was getting followed a lot since he couldn't really defend himself but he didn't care one bit. He was all smiles to be playing a shooting game with all the big people.
